Question:

What are the regulations regarding the installation of a fence?
Answer:

You must obtain a permit. In residential districts a fence may be installed on the property line at a maximum height of 6.5' behind the front building line and 4' in front of the building line. In commercial districts fences must not exceed 10 feet in height (15' for industrial uses) and may be located on the property line. Additional questions about fences can be directed to the Planning Department at 304-348-8105.
